My name is James Holm and I’m a photographer based in Stockholm, Sweden. I’ve been working professionally with photography since the mid-1990s, and my work has always been closely connected to my interests in life.
I started out photographing skateboarding in the 1990s, before moving into snowboarding and spending years travelling in search of snow, mountains and the perfect conditions. Over time, cars became an increasingly important part of my photography and eventually the main focus of my work.
Automotive photography has since taken me around the world, working with cars, manufacturers, events and editorial projects. My connection to the automotive world, however, goes back much further. My father, Bengt Ason Holm, was a motoring journalist and photographer, and I grew up around cars, photography and the stories behind them. That heritage still influences the way I work today, always looking to capture not only the car itself, but also the atmosphere and story around it.
I’m based in Stockholm, where I have my office and studio, although much of my work takes place on location in Sweden and internationally.
